Where has this month gone? I can't believe February has almost gone for 2011...and boy hasn't it been a busy month! We went up to our school for Open Day and the swimming carnival, only to have it rain the night before! Open Day went ahead and it was great to meet my little Dude's teacher. The swimming carnival was postponed as so many families were unable to get in because of the wet weather AND there was also a wild weather warning forecast for that afternoon.
We have been learning some interesting things in the year 2 papers. The current unit involves mapping and using Google Earth...cool! Yesterday Nathan had to create a postcard of our family's favourite place. Of course it is on our property:
On the back of the postcard, he wrote about Bend Hole. " Our special place is on our property. At Bend Hole, there is a stone crossing built by the Chinese. We like it because we like to walk over the crossin, sit in the hole chair in a tree, have picnics, look for koalas and listen to the birds." Unfortunately the waterhole is not always full, making it even more special to see when the water flows over the crossing.
Soon he has to write a personal recount of a holiday..he has several wonderful experiences to choose from.
