Another Layout

Here's another layout scraplifted from Oddbjorg's layout. This photo just had to be scrapped! No doubt it will be trotted out at his 21st. ;-)

Scraplift

Yesterday I completed a challenge posted by Liz at Scrap With V.
It was to scraplift this layout by Oddbjorg from Norway.

Here is my lift of that stunning layout. I chose to go girly this time as I recently took this photo of a gorgeous little girl.

Passion for Fashion

I am taking part in Passion for Fashion at Scrap Boutique. This is totally new to me so I decided "Why not?"

Week One - The 80's !!

**This week's extra criteria
- Quote some 80's song lyrics on your page.

I was married and had 3 of my children in the '80's, so it's not really that long ago! I must say I was never into bright colours, leather jackets and stonewashed denim (ugh!! I still don't like that look!)

Anyway here is my layout for the 1980's.

The photo was taken in October 1981, in New Zealand.

Layout to Share

I managed to get a layout done while listening to a P & C meeting this afternoon. I have used the beautiful Basic Grey Bittersweet papers as well as some Making Memories papers.

Crafty Sketches

This is the latest sketch to be found on Crafty Sketches. It was designed by my gorgeous sister Wendy. I love this sketch, it's just so versatile.

Here is my layout for this sketch.

Yesterday afternoon, we went to our neighbour’s and the kids played on a water slide. They had an absolute ball as you can see. We stayed for a scrummy dinner and a very relaxing evening. The kids played happily for hours and were sad to see each other go.

Today while having lunch, a whirly wind hit and there was an almighty crash and bang. We headed outside to see what had happened and we discovered this:

Deepest Sympathy

The horror of what is happening with the bushfires in Victoria is beyond belief. The senseless loss of life and the total destruction, beyond imagine. My thoughts are with those who are suffering at this time and also with those who are doing their darnedest to put out the fires. May your strength shine through. To those who have lost family, my deepest sympathy. Remember happy times and memories will bring a smile to your face and lessen the weight in your heart.

Catching Up

On Friday we went up to our school, Longreach School of Distance Education for Family Day and the swimming carnival.

The kids met their teachers and also their classmates. There were home tutor sessions with teachers as well as a session with regards all support staff. Nathan was very happy to make some new friends. I was happy to see there were still some familiar faces amongst the staff as well as families. Nathan was so excited to be wearing his new school uniform!

After lunch, Nathan competed in some of the 10m events and had a wonderful time in the pool.

Nathan had a fun birthday party with his friends yesterday afternoon. The kids all got on so well and eventhough Milli was the only girl, she was not left out.

His rocket ship cake was not as I’d hoped but he was happy with it, so that’s the main thing.

Our guests all stayed for a relaxing BBQ dinner before heading home.

This morning at 6am, we trucked 858 2004 drop ewes who are now heading for their new home new Goondiwindi. They loaded really well and we were home again by 8.30am. The rest of the day is fairly steady though.

First Telephone Lesson

Nathan had his first telephone lesson this morning at 10am. There are 6 children in his ‘on-air’ class which is great for this age. His teacher explained that the children must call in with their name if they had the answer to a question. As she couldn’t see them, putting their hand up was no good at all! They also need to finish with her name so that she knows they have finished talking. Then she asked them a couple of questions so they could practice what they’d been told. The first question was “I’d like you to tell me what colour is the shirt you are wearing today.” This was quite funny as Nathan wasn’t wearing a shirt, so he said “My shirt is skin coloured Mrs L.” Then she asked what he was wearing and he replied “Just undies Mrs L.”

As all of the class answered their questions well and were very good at remembering the rules, she told the children to give themselves a squeeze…the look on Nathan’s face as he did this was so funny!

This is also my layout for the last photographic challenge at Scrap Boutique.

More Challenges completed

Nathan did some scrapping as part of his schoolwork today and at the same time completed the Kids' Challenge at the Scrap with V cybercrop.
The requirements for his challenge included having items starting with the letters in "Beach". eg
B - brads, buttons
E - Embellishments, embroidery thread
A - Alphas
C - cardstock
H - hessian

He loves scrapbooking and this time especially loved using the cardstock stickers matching the Basic Grey paper. You can see that he also loves playing in the mud after rain or washing the vehicles!

I completed the sketch challenge this afternoon and finally scrapped a photo of our eldest son Alastair on his 22nd birthday. (He turns 24 this July!) Better late than never!! My sister Lea took this photo as Alastair was staying with her at the time.

Oh, our split system air-conditioner was installed yesterday. We tested it during lunch and then turned it off during the afternoon as it really wasn't warm enough to warrant having it on. Today is cool and lightly cloudy with the occasional drizzle of rain.
