Yesterday afternoon I created a fun style of layout that was in part inspired by the talented Carole Janson in that I have quite a number of 3 dimensional elements.
I don't know about your children, but my youngest son has a very fertile imagination! And I can assure you, it never sleeps....he tells me about the most amazing dreams he has.

Last Challenges
I have finally completed the last of the challenges from the SWV cybercrop. Thank goodness I had this week to complete them all.
Wendy's card challenge was to use a photo and the colour purple....there's that colour again! Not a colour I am keen on at all, unless it's in the garden.
And then there was Lindy's mystery challenge. I don't mind this photo, taken in about 2001 I think for a school magazine....OMG that's years ago!

Layout Share
So far I have been able to complete two challenges from the SWV Cybercrop.
This one is for Kylie's challenge:
Use a photo of yourself at any age
Use colours for your birth month (for me that's black/lime/aqua/purple)
Only cardstock (no patterned paper)
Alphas
Pen
Bling/Pearls...only small rhinestones
This photo of me was taken about 3 years ago.
Ness gave us a sketch challenge with 2 stipulations... no pink (easy for me) and must have a girly photo.
I chose to scrap the group photo from the SWV 2008 retreat and used the new Kaisercraft Foreshore papers as the retreat was at Caloundra.
This afternoon I managed to complete Jodi's inspirational challenge. The challenge had to be of vintage style, girly theme, using vintage photos and use a vintage piece of jewellery.
This is only my second shabby chic/vintage layout and I must admit I love creating them. I can see I will be doing more in the future.

White with 1 Challenge
Here is my entry for the White with 1 challenge. The criteria was to use white as dominate with neutral and vintage embellishments.
I was sorry to learn that this is the last challenge from White with 1 as sponsorship has become a problem. Hopefully someone will come forward soon.

Beautiful Flowers
Yesterday while reading Tania's blog I discovered her tutorials. I could hardly wait to try making her flowers and the result....totally gorgeous! The tutorial is so simple too. Here are the flowers I've made:
I added a few touches of gold twinkling h2o to add a touch of colour to suit my layout.
So check out Tania's blog and give these flowers a go!

Splashes of colour
I thought I'd share some of the colour in my garden with you....
I love a bushy garden and just as importantly splashes of colour! While I don't have bushes and shrubs just yet...still working on that part....I do have annuals in flower, they look so beautiful.

Exciting mail!
Yesterday I received 2 very interesting packages in the mail. I recently participated in the yellow embellishment swap at White with 1...here is what I received
AND Nathan and I received some prizes from Scrap with V. Nathan is thrilled with his pack (those cars and trucks are right down his alley) and he was so excited to see the letter N (for Nathan of course!) in there.
I received this gorgeous pen as a prize from Crafty Sketches sponsored by Bling n Things. Thank you so much Ness...I love it! Nathan told his Dad the pen was 'very very girly'....don't think I'll have to worry either of them putting it in their pockets!

3D art
Nathan's class created an interesting piece of artwork this morning - a 3D exploding volcano! It's a fun piece of artwork and I love the texture created by the scrunched paper, crepe paper, glitter and shredded cellophane!
All my boys had wonderful preschool/prep teachers but I have never before had a teacher who loves to teach the kids different styles of art. Kids love art and tactile learning is so important.

Card Workshop
I was lucky to attend another card making workshop with Mary over the weekend. The time we played with
shadow boxes and punches, layering and windows
JAC paper
Tropical colours
dimension (I love this hat stamp I recently bought! It's so versatile...what I've done here is very basic.)
and masking
We had a great weekend and are really looking forward to our next workshop...a Christmas one.
