Busy Week

We've just returned home from a week in Brisbane. It was wonderful to catch up our children and be with be with Adam to celebrate his 20th birthday. It's the first time Nathan has been with Adam on his birthday.

Nathan and Kathryn made and decorated Adam's birthday cake. Nathan insisted that it had to be a rocket ship! Poor Kathryn.....but the two of them did a great job! I insisted that the right number of candles was on Adam's cake.

Nathan had his first visit from the Tooth Fairy too! She was lucky to find him so far from home....a very clever little lady! Nathan was thrilled with his money...he so badly wanted 'golden money'.

Whenever we go in to the CBD, we take the CityCat. It's lovely to be out on the water and away from the hustle and bustle of the traffic.

We spent a wonderful time at the 'zooseum' (Nathan's interpretation of museum). He raced around everywhere taking in all the sights and sounds. The display of fossils was amazing and I think that would have to be my favourite area. Nathan loved the ocean area, marvelled at the reef, touch the turle, crocodile jaws as well as the dinosaur skeletons, animals and old transport.

The highlight of our day was going on the Wheel of Brisbane. I must admit that I do not have a head for heights, but I was determined to go on this or I knew I'd regret it very much. Well it was absolutley wonderful. The sky was slear and we could see for miles! At one stage we stopped at the top so more passengers could hop on, the perfect photo opportunity for us.

Craig and Kathryn have bought a lovely home in a really quiet area. They are so very close to a railway station and the Ipswich Motorway but across from them is a whole block of bushland. I sat on the patio with a cuppa on Friday afternoon and next minute two 'roos came out of the bush and proceeded to nibble on the lawns. Scrub turkeys wander the yards. Both hardly notice as cards race down the street - just a quick glance and then a lazy stretch to scratch an itch! So hard to believe I was in the city.
